New zealand flax

This variety of Phormium has extremely dark leaves - the darkest of any phormium available. The strappy leaves are a very deep shade of purple, almost black. This is an extremely resilient plant which can cope in many difficult situations, including windy, salty or exposed locations, in sun or shade. Phormiums have attractive, strappy evergreen foliage which makes them useful when combined with perennials or shrubs. This is more compact variety, which grows to a maximum height of 1m. 3L container.
