'Fireball' hawthorn

A rare small tree with much bigger fruit (haws) than our native hawthorn. It has clusters of lightly fragranced white flowers in spring followed by masses of large drooping crimson-red fruit nearly the size of crab-apples. They can last well into winter, if they are not eaten by wildlife first. The dark green leaves turn a beautiful orange in autumn. Eventual height 6m. 5-6ft tall trees. Plants displayed on this website are not necessarily in stock in each of our shops.
