Brook thistle

A thistle-like plant with stunning dark red, long-lasting flowers - very much loved by bees and butterflies. It starts flowering in early summer and, if dead-headed regularly, it can flower right into autumn. It prefers damp, but not water-logged soil. Grows well in a wildflower meadow or at the back of a border. Grows up to 100cms tall. Young plants sold in small 9cms pots.
