Verbena bonariensis

A superb garden plant for butterflies. A tall and very airy purple-flowering perennial with a long flowering period for the latter half of the summer, which can grow to up to 2 m tall. A very popular and much-loved plant that grows well in this climate. It thrives in well-drained soil and full sun, and requires little care. Cut flower-stalks to base after flowering, and cut plants down to a couple of inches at the end of the year. Ideal for combining with perennials and grasses such as Miscanthus, Agapanthus and Allium. Young plants in small 9cms pots.
