'Ostfriesland' ornamental sage

A perennial with dark purple flowers in mid-summer through to autumn. The flowers appear as elegant spikes above the foliage and looks particularily well with grasses or daisy-like flowers. This is an excellent plant for bees and other insects. Requires full sun and well-drained soil-will rot in water-logged soil. Can be cut back at the end of autumn or brown stalks can be left as a feature through the winter.Young plants in small 9cms pots.
