Opening spring 2017: Shop No 2

January 2017: this spring we will be opening a second shop. It will be located in the former Plantagen garden centre off the M3 near Dunboyne, Co Meath. This is only a few minutes drive past Blanchardstown and approximately 10 mins off the M50 / 25 minutes from Dublin city centre. Avoca will be opening their largest store to date on this site, and we are going to be their nearest neighbour, occupying the left hand wing of the extensive glasshouses. This is going to be a new departure for us as this new shop is going to be several times larger than our current one in Monkstown. We're very much looking forward to making this a garden centre that will inspire and excite everyone who visits, with something for both the novice and the experienced gardener. We're relishing the idea of extra space so that we can have a wider range of plants, both indoors and outdoors, and more space to display our range of tools, garden furniture and all things horticultural.

We're on the lookout for enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff. We have part time and full time positions available. We are looking for people with the following skills / experience / education:

  • Extensive plant knowledge and a passion for sharing it.
  • Hands-on gardening skills.
  • Experience or qualifications in garden /planting design.
  • Good communication and people skills.
  • An ability to arrange, organise and manage stock.
  • Ability to take on some heavy lifting and to tolerate long days on your feet - even in inclement weather.
  • A full driving license is a plus as we run a delivery service.

Salary will be determined by experience and suitability.

Please apply with your current CV and 2 references to anthea@howbertandmays.ie with 'Dunboyne garden centre' in the subject line or by post to:

Thanks & good luck!
